The real estate agora returns: the MRES celebrates its fifth edition

The benchmark gathering for the high-end real estate sector returns on 16 April to the Castillo Hotel Son Vida.

From experiment to unmissable appointment

The Mallorca Real Estate Summit returns once again. What began as almost an adventure destined to test whether there was space for an event that gathered a select group of professionals related to the high-end real estate sector, from a multidisciplinary perspective and with the objective of putting in common their proposals and ideas, celebrates its fifth edition. The Mallorca Real Estate Summit (MRES) is an unmissable appointment for architects, interior designers, clients, enthusiasts, landscape architects, economists and, in general, all those who wish to be informed of the latest trends and developments in Real Estate. It will be held on 27 March at the Castillo Hotel Son Vida and, as usual, will feature a truly prestigious line-up.

MRES has learned from previous editions and reinvents itself after each one. There have been many events occurring in these years, from the hangover of the pandemic to a war in the heart of Europe or the re-election of a peculiar president in the world’s leading economic power. The general format and the venue where the conference will be held are maintained, as it is difficult to surpass. The concept also remains: brief, intense capsules full of information, in the format of a presentation, a conversation or a debate, and always with a cast of first-rate speakers, people with the capacity to transmit and generate content.

The Mallorca Real Estate Summit is not a conference or a masterclass. One does not come to impart doctrine, nor is one going to listen to a speech repeated a thousand times. The Mallorca Real Estate Summit is a meeting of professionals, an agora in which to share opinions, debate trends or question ideas.

One day, twenty voices, all the questions

The day will begin with a presentation by Pedro Álvarez, from the Strategic Planning Department of CaixaBank Research, who will aim to explain the perspectives of real estate to us. After this global vision of the situation, there will be a dialogue between two trendsetters and opinion makers. On one hand, Ramón Esteve, chief architect of Ramón Esteve Estudio, and on the other, Jesús Cano, director of Elle Decor. A gem to be discovered.

The level is maintained when speaking of Palma, the city that hosts us. For this, there is nothing better than knowing the opinion of its mayor, Jaime Martínez, regarding its evolution. The person in charge of extracting all possible information will be Maricruz Rivera, Territorial Director of CaixaBank in the Balearics.

We widen the focus and look at the entire autonomous community alongside the Minister for Housing, Territory and Mobility. By his side, rather than opposite him, Climent Olives, president of the Association of Builders of the Balearics; Óscar Carreras, president of Proinba, and Daniel Arenas, president of Abini. Javier del Hoyo, head of Tax in the Balearics at KPMG, will lead the dialogue. Following them, Beatriz Menéndez-Valdés, director of Veltaro Hospitality at Blasson Property Investments, and Fernando Martínez, partner in charge of Tourism in Spain at KPMG, will provide the economic and financial vision of the sector.

A break to recharge, and a question with an apparently simple answer: why does everyone have their sights set on the Balearics? Luis Díaz, delegate in the Balearics and head of the Luxury Area of Tecnitasa, together with Paula Serra, editor of El Económico, will explain it with data and contrasted opinions.

The matters regarding financing will be handled by Omar García, from CaixaBank, and Raimon Serra, from TQ Eurocredit, two sides of the same coin, traditional banking and alternative credit. It will be very interesting.

Also in terms of differentiation and debate, José Manuel Moreno, CEO and founder of Gunni&Trentino, and Manuel Burgos, lead architect of Manuel Burgos Arquitectura, will converse. Bernat Vidal, CEO of Borbalán, will lead them, and the topic to be confronted will be Mallorca and Marbella.

This will be followed by a presentation much anticipated by all residents of Palma, “Club de Mar, transformation of the maritime facade”. José Luis Arrom, its general manager, together with César Jiménez de Tejada, PhD Architect and Co-founder of estudio_entresitio, will update us on what promises to be one of the great luxury real estate references in the Mediterranean.

Susanna Mander will then speak to us about one of the most in-demand housing trends currently, branded residences, and she will do so from the perspective offered by her position as Global Director of Brand Expansion at Meliá Hotels International.

The future will be built by Toni Ballester, CEO of Estel; Lourdes Vázquez, studio manager of Jardins Tramuntana; Daniel Romero, General Manager of Almacenes Femenías, and Álvaro Palomino, Head of Project Business Iberia at Miele, conversing about their indirect, complementary and essential participation in the market. Paula Serra will lead the debate panel.

To finish, Bernat Vidal will interview Mariana Muñoz, founder of Terraza Balear, so that she can tell us about her trajectory and business evolution.

Palma as a setting and an argument

The closing of the event will be equal to the stature of the day and will be carried out by Marga Prohens, president of the Government.
